'Romantic Vintage' style wedding at Glen Innes

It had been raining fairly solidly for around a week in September last year when I set off for my first of two weddings for the weekend.  Tess and Buster were to wed on Buster’s family property at Glen Innes.

Thankfully the rain had stopped, but I still had a flooded creek to cross on the farm before I could even get to the wedding.  Thankfully I’d left my car on the other side of the creek earlier in the week, and it just took a quick tractor ride across the creek with the neighbour and I was on my way.

Tess and Buster were still going ahead with their outdoor ceremony and the weather was kind to this couple, with no rain and just a slight wind to contend with.  The wind did play havoc before the ceremony when I took Tess outside after she got dressed – a gust caught her veil and it low over the top of the house and got caught on the roof!!

But the ceremony proceeded without a hitch.  Tess was brought to the ceremony in a mint green Fargo truck and her brother walked her down the aisle, with bridesmaid Kaitlyn (Buster’s daughter) ahead of her.  Buster’s two sons Lachlan and Harrison were also waiting at the alter alongside their dad.

The lovely Mel Lindsay conducted the ceremony and told the guests the beautiful story behind Tess & Buster meeting and his proposal.

After some family photos, I took the bride and groom to the park in Glen Innes for some bridal portraits, and we also utilised the paddock adjacent to the ceremony and reception location on Busters’ family farm on the outskirts of town.  The slightly clouded sunset provided a beautiful backdrop with some amazing colours to cap off the day.

When we returned, the guests were already in the reception area in a huge shed, which Tess, Buster and all the family had spent many hours and days turning into an amazing venue with fairy light draped from the ceiling, long tables, beautifully adorned with rustic decorations and vintage cutlery and crockery.

It was a beautiful day and I wish Tess and Buster many years of happiness!  I am also delighted to announce that the happy couple are expecting their first child together later in 2017!
