Cassie and Matt were married on what was forecast to be quite a rainy day in Armidale at the beginning of March. Thankfully, the weather held out for the couple, which was especially pleasing as their reception was held in a huge marquee at Matt’s family property, just out of Armidale.
Cassie and Matt were wed in a traditional Catholic ceremony at the St Mary & Joseph Cathedral in Armidale. This church is magnificent and you can’t help but be in awe of the size, architecture and design. Before the ceremony started I asked Matt and his groomsmen to take a seat in the pews for a couple of quick shots. It wasn’t long before Cassie and her bridesmaids arrived. (They had been told not to be late, or the Father would add another five minutes onto the sermon!!)
After the ceremony we all went back to Matt’s family house and property where we shot family photos in his parents’ garden, then moved on to bridal party photographs in both the garden and the vineyard.
Matt and Cassie had also bought a magnum of champagne which provided for some great fun photographs when he opened that to have his first drink with his new wife!
The reception was held under a huge marquee set up in a paddock adjacent to the house. It started showering as the guests began to be seated, but thankfully, the rain only stayed as a light shower. And to cap the evening off, I also took Matt and Cassie outside for some after-dark shots with my portable flash unit. While no one ever wants rain on their wedding day, the light shower created the most wonderful effect for after dark shots!!
Wishing Matt and Cassie all the best for their future together.
