While not high-school sweethearts, Warialda kids Ellen and Andrew have been together since they were teenagers!
Their big day was held between two towns with the preparation and ceremony in Warialda at the St Joseph’s Catholic Church, bridal party shots at Ellen’s family property just south of Warialda and then on to Bingara for the reception at the magnificent Roxy Theatre.
Ellen had decided to keep her dress design a secret from her three bridesmaids, who only saw Ellen’s dress minutes before they helped her into the gown, which had a beautiful lace bodice and tulle skirt. The dress was completed with a brooch special to Ellen’s heart.
Andrew and his groomsmen were very smart in grey suits, complete with pale pink ties and white roses. The bridesmaids wore vintage-inspired long pale-pink gowns with lace cap sleeves.
Several family members from both sides participated in the church service with readings and prayers.
For the bridal party shots, we made use of the woolshed and hay bales at Ellen’s family property. We even had some photobombing calves! At the woolshed, the happy couple showed me a post which had quite a bit of graffiti on it from the Smith family, but right in the middle was a little scribble:
The night was rounded out by a huge feast at Bingara’s Roxy Theatre, complete with the vocal stylings of Warialda’s own superstar Benny Nelson. I whipped Andrew and Ellen out for a last couple of pictures after the sun set, making use of the ticket-box at the entrance to the Roxy.
What a beautiful day, with beautiful people!
